It features, a large color display with automatic backlighting to ensure easy readability indoors and outdoors, and a long-lasting rechargeable battery (with up to 14 hours of continuous use). It's also equipped with the patented IntelliGreen technology, enabling golfers to measure the full depth and shape of the green from any angle of approach, both on or off the fairway. Part of SkyCaddie's exclusive, professional 4-Star SkyCourses, IntelliGreen graphics provide an eagle's eye view of the green with an indicator representing a direct line-of-play from wherever you are on the course.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can the SG5 give me the distance to the pin?
A: The SkyCaddie, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more information than just the distance to the pin. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.

I'm the envy of all my Golf Buds !

Highly recommended. I read the previous comment and can not understand why he had any problems.

This unit is wonderful. Loaded like a charm. The Subscription was about $40 for a year and you can load 10 courses for this rate. There are higher subscription rates if you'd like to have more courses or even international courses. Change courses as often as you like.

This even had the specs for my favorite "remodeled" course which was finished in February. Very up-to-date info.

Accurate! Will measure to the center of the green and will even measure your drive distance. Problem is, when other people on the course see my skycaddie that all want to "play" with it. It can slow down the game.

Performs exactly as advertised

I'll admit it...I tried a cheaper product made by Garmin. It locked up every three or four rounds. After trying three units I gave up and bought the SG5. It works great. The color screen is very easy to read in the sun. The charge lasts longer than I expected, usually three full rounds at least. My only complaint is that it's a little bigger than some of it's competitors. You can't slip it into your pocket to take a swing. But I've used it for six months and it's performed flawlessly. If you are thinking of saving a little money, I would not recommend any of the models with black and white screens (SG2.5, SG3, SG4). They are very hard to read in the sun; you have to constantly rotate the screen around to catch just the right angle. Although it lacks the features of the higher models, the SG2, with it's black-on-green screen, is easier to read. If you are thinking of buying anything but the SG5, I'd strongly recommend that you find someone who has the model you're considering, and check out the screen in the bright sunlight.
Works Perfectly

I read a lot of reviews and had some concerns but went ahead and bought the SG-5 anyway. I link to my Mac and it works flawlessly. Many of my regular playing partners are using laser range finders but I think that this unit is easier to use - you just glance at it - and helps speed of play. I am careful about protecting my stuff so I just bought a LowePro digital camera case (REZO 50) and the SG5 just squeezes into it. Lowepro Rezo 50 Camera Bag
I recommend this without reservation.
Great Golf GPS!

I have had no issues with the SkyCaddie. I actually returned the GolfLogix due to issues with accuracy and difficulty reading the screen. The SkyCaddie is easy to operate, read, and is incredibly useful. I also prefer the number of golf courses GolfCaddie offers...and for $29 bucks a year...please, this is cheap folks! I did download the new Onyx screen theme and had no issues. I am using Mac, and it works great. They even guarantee that if you don't reduce your overall strokes per game you can return the unit...that is confidence! If the PGA and all the Pros and my local PGA/Country Club are using SkyCaddies...that is very telling Get One, you will love it!
Technology That Helps Every Handicap

This product surpasses every expectation I had.

Skycaddie speeds up your game as you don't have to spend time searching for the yardage markers. If you like to walk like I do, SkyCaddie saves you even more time if you happen to miss the fairway to the opposite side of the cart paths where the yardage markers are painted.

Where SkyCaddie realy shines is when you stray way off target. When your drive is in the other fairway, SkyCaddie tells you what you really need to know: no more frustrating calculations based on how far over you are from your hole's yardage marker (providing you can see it).

IntelliGreen works well, and if you know exact pin placements it works even better.

I was easily able to map a course not on their list.

When I'm playing a course that requires carts, I still prefer my SkyCaddie over the annoying GPS information screen mounted in the cart.

I started the season as a 12 handicapper, and shot my life-low of 75 (3 over) in October.
Sky Caddie SG5

I am happy to report that the Sky Caddie SG5 performed flawlessly right out of the box. Downloads are easy.

For players like myself, who belong to county golf associations that play many local courses, I would recommend that future models support more than ten courses at one time on the device. Twenty or twenty-five would be a nice number. Memory is cheap now, so there should be no technical reason for the old limit of ten courses.
Still the Best Golf GPS out there

I have owned my SG5 now for about a year. There is no comparison. I work in a local golf shop here in Colorado and we have brought several of the competitors into the store and eventually sold them on eBay because of the inferior performance.

Easy to read, easy to use, durable, all the info you would ever want for your game. And with the updates coming out throughout this year, it will be even better. The new score keeping upgrade is great, and when the 3d fly-over views of the holes come, that will be just awesome!

Don't wast your money on a "wanna-be" like uPro, Golf buddy, etc. Spend your money wisely and get a SkyCaddie!
