A lot of golfers will have heard of the common names in the world of golf that make golf balls such as Titleist, Wilson, Top-flite and Maxfli but a lot of golfers will not be aware of a company called Bridgestone that make golf balls, in fact you may be surprised to know they have been actually been producing golf balls since 1935.

Golfer’s today are learning that custom fit golf clubs and lessons are just pieces of the puzzle when trying to lower their scores. They are starting to realize that the golf ball itself can make a large contribution to playing a great round.

 The most common trajectory flaws for today’s golfer are slices and hooks caused by excess sidespin. The new e6 golf ball employs a newly enhanced Anti-Side Spin Inner Layer that lowers/stops excess spin for an even straighter and longer flight. The e6 is the most popular model of the e-Series due to its forgiveness on off-center hits and the 2010 version will bring even greater accuracy to help players lower their scores. Golfer’s today are learning that custom fit golf clubs and lessons are just pieces of the puzzle when trying to lower their scores. They are starting to realize that the golf ball itself can make a large contribution to playing a great round.
 Two common mistakes made by amateurs are choosing balls played by their favorite tour player or choosing an inexpensive ball to avoid breaking the bank.
 Playing the Pro V1/Nike 1 Tour because Joe Pro PGA plays it can cause the average golf heartache and frustration because the ball may not fit their swing. Swing speed, trajectory, distance are all factors a golfer should consider when choosing a ball.Â
 Price is another factor for Joe Average because losing a $3 ball in a round is acceptable, but losing 6 or 10 balls can make it an expensive day.  For the duffer that is constantly looking for errant tee shots, finding the right ball may not only solve some of the frustration but it may save money as well.Â
 Do you slice/hook your shots? A ball with less spin could be the answer. Are you looking for that extra 10-20 yards? A ball with a little extra roll could accomplish that. Need higher/lower ball flight?  There’s a ball for that golfer too.
 Let’s talk about ball flight. One group of golfers that needs help is those who struggle with hitting their shots too low and need a higher ball flight for added carry. The new e5 golf ball uses its unique 2-piece urethane cover construction to help golfers who want more height in their shot trajectory. For 2010, the e5 incorporates a 326-dimple pattern with shallower and larger dimples, producing a higher trajectory than its predecessor. In addition, the e5 has a large gradational compression core and soft Tour-caliber urethane cover. The result is longer distance off the tee with improved spin control on and around the greens.
 The most common trajectory flaws for today’s golfer are slices and hooks caused by excess sidespin. The new e6 golf ball employs a newly enhanced Anti-Side Spin Inner Layer that lowers/stops excess spin for an even straighter and longer flight. The e6 is the most popular model of the e-Series due to its forgiveness on off-center hits and the 2010 version will bring even greater accuracy to help players lower their scores. In addition to the improved anti-spin, Bridgestone has made the softest multi-layer golf ball on the market even softer by lowering compression by 8%.  The softer feel is best appreciated by golfer when used for greenside chips/pitches and putting.

A lot of golfers will have heard of the common names in the world of golf that make golf balls such as Titleist, Wilson, Top-flite and Maxfli but a lot of golfers will not be aware of a company called Bridgestone that make golf balls, in fact you may be surprised to know they have been actually been producing golf balls since 1935.

IPE (ee-pay): the long lasting Brazillian outdoors hardwood.
Commonly referred to by the brand name Iron Wood, this organically fire resistant building material holds a US Forest Lab rating for 25 plus years durability. With a naturally tight grain that stands up against water, decay, and woodborers, IPE is well suited for docks, decks, and other exterior applications.
Although easily cut and drilled with standard carbide wood working tools, IPE is a true hardwood and requires pre-drilling before fastening. It comes in standard lumber sizes, weathers (when unfinished) into a beautiful silver-gray, and resists movement damage. Being basically free of knots or sapwood, each board is almost perfectly clear. When correctly sealed, it can be expected to maintain a vibrant brown to golden tan color. Very little maintenance is required.
The variety of furnished lumber sizes is sufficient to fit any project. Standard decking size is 4/4 (3/4” net thickness), and when placed on 24” centers will provide a one hundred pound live load rating. IPE is considered premium lumber and has been used in commercial applications such as the Atlantic City boardwalk.
So how does IPE stack against other outdoor lumber products?
· Pressure-treated lumber – is usually pine or fir that has been infused with chemicals that make it rot and insect resistant. If not kept sealed, stained, or painted it is susceptible to quick weather damage. Inexpensive but easy to warp and splinter, PT lumber requires much care in pre-construction board selection.
· Naturally resistant species – such as cedar, redwood, and cypress do not require pressure treatment. Note, however, that the natural resistance is limited to the core of the tree. The outer, cream-colored sapwood of the tree is no more rot resistant than a toothpick. Unless sealed or stained, the sapwood portions of these lumbers will weather to various shades and grays. Most of today’s market will include much sapwood.
· Exotic species – in which stands the IPE, are more durable, more difficult to work, and more expensive than the previously discussed lumbers. But for those who seek that special look, IPE with its greater beauty, a 3-5 times increase in life span, and a stronger damage resistance factor is competitively priced.
Building hint: use the inexpensive lumbers for the less exposed understructure, and then go for the gusto with the exposed.

Are you a golf beginner? If so, do you need some tips on golf techniques? The answer is probably yes. Even those who have been playing for a while could use some helpful golf tips and techniques to improve their game.
STARTING OUT
If you are just starting out, the best advice you can receive is to take some lessons from a golf professional. You can find someone through your local country club, community college or golf course. You can also check your local newspaper.
You really need a pro to teach you the basics in the correct way. If you try to learn on your own without anyone showing you the proper stance, swings, and techniques, you will have a tough time mastering the game.
PRACTICING
Once you start taking lessons, you need to be practicing as much as possible. Initially, you can practice at home or out in a field. This way you can get a feel for swinging a golf club and learn how to handle the small shots like putting and chipping without having other people around to make you nervous.
After you are feeling a bit more comfortable with the ball, go to the golf course or driving range and practice there. You can observe others and see what styles and techniques they use. This can be very helpful to you.

GOLF CLUBS
Choosing golf clubs is a challenge for experienced players and can be even more frustrating for a golf beginner. There are many variables involved in the selection of a golf club, not the least is what your personal needs are.
Golf clubs are available in a wide range of sizes to suit the individual player. A standard club has a smaller head (and small sweet spot) and is the preferred type for golf professionals and those who have plenty of experience on the golf course.
A mid-size golf club has a larger sweet spot and head size than the standard size, making it easier for ball contact. Golf players with intermediate skills usually choose these clubs.
If you are just starting out as a golf beginner, you should choose an over-sized golf club. This type of club has a very large sweet spot making it much easier to hit. You may not have as much control but you will have longer distance.
GOLF CLUB TYPES
There are two types of golf clubs, the cast iron club and the forged iron club. The bulk of the weight in the cast iron club is around the border of the head. This creates a bigger sweet spot, making it the preferred club for golf beginners who are challenged by making full contact with the ball.
The forged iron club is heavier with the bulk of the weight at the center of the head. This club is the choice for seasoned golf pros. As your skill and comfort level increase, you will probably want to use this club either in addition to or instead of the cast iron club.
Golf is a game of skill. For most people, however, it is a great stress reliever and is played for fun. Once you have chosen your golf clubs and have mastered the basics of the game, you are ready to go out and have fun on the greens.
